After a long public bus we arrived in Chongqing. This was the place were te five star cruise was waiting for us.
The cruise was beautifull and our host Amy was cool:). We had 3 times a day a buffet and o my god that was amazing. We ate to much those 3 days!

We stayed 3 days on the cruise and every day we stopped for some sightseeing. First day was the Pagoda en Temple on the hill. The Temple above the hill of the island was build firts before the Pagoda was build. So when you wanted to visit the temple, you had the climb! The Pagoda was build 19 years later and it serves as a staircase.

The next day we had the sightseeing The Three Gorges.
In a book about China they've writing that a lot of hard-boiled communist and emperors have been rendered speechless. Small boats of sightseers have mega-pixelled their way from Chongqing to Yichang. For as long as many Yangzi boat hands can remember, the Three Gorges have been a member of prestigious China Tour, together with the Terracotta Warriors and The Great Wall.
Than they wrote that these days the Three Gorges get mixed press. Some travellers have their socks well and truly blown away; others ariive in Yichang scratching their heads and wonderingen what all the fuss was about. Now I'm one of the last one. The surroundings were defenitily beautiful, but all the different Gorges were in my eyes all the same..
I think back in the days that the dam wasn't build yet and the river was only 80 meters deep instead of 175 meter, it was indeed breathtaking.

The last day we went to the dam. Before we got there, we had first go to 5 locks what toke us 4 hrs. This was during the night, never heard something.. This was amazing to see how big the dam was. They are making a elevator for boats up to 3000ton. That's just crazy!
Well that was our tour on the Yangzi River. After that we arrived at Yichang. A small city, but was different. People were getting more relax and had some nice shops:)

Hier ga ik rondtrekken met een groep die bestaat uit mensen uit verschillende landen. De laatste drie weken van mijn reis ga ik vrijwilligerswerk doen in een weeshuis in Singburi te Thailand.
